I was visiting an elementary school the other day in
The classroom was empty at the time. In the classroom was a reading table featuring several books, two of which were about President Obama and I immediately picked them up . The first one was a small hardback book. Each page featured a full color photograph of either the President or the First Lady. Under each photograph was a simple sentence such as “Obama will always tell you the truth,” or “Obama cares about poor people.”
The other book looked like it was downloaded as a PDF file
by someone, and folded and stapled into a small booklet. It described the
history of Obama. This book had few pictures and would have a couple of
sentences on each page such as, “After Obama graduated with a law degree, he
returned to
I have never seen a book in a classroom about George Bush or Bill Clinton, let alone a book which describes a President with such saint like reverence.
This is all part of today’s indoctrination of our children in public schools. There are actually lesson plans created by so called educational curriculum companies about Obama even though he has barely served 100 days in office. One such example is made available by www.racebridgesforschools.com in which they provide a free downloadable lesson plan for teachers.
The lesson plan centers around Obama’s speech on race titled
“A More Perfect Union” which he gave on March 18th. The lesson plan calls for
the kids to compare this speech to the “I have a Dream” speech by Martin Luther
King and compare how each man viewed the issues of race and racism. The lesson
plan even discusses Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The students are asked to find media
clips which incorrectly frame the famous line from one of Wright’s sermons
criticizing the
Students are then asked to describe what Rev. Wright really meant by his words. I can just see it now. The teacher is at the head of the classroom asking questions to the students.
“Who can tell me some of the obstacles President Obama had to overcome in order to become President boys and girls?”
A boy raises his hand and says, “Racism.”
“Very good Billy, and why was he able to win the election
despite all the racism in
“Because he’s such a good person,” answers one student.
“Because he cares so much about the poor,” says another.
“And what is President Obama going to do for our country now that he’s been elected, boys and girls?” “He’s going to save us from global warming,” replies one student.
“He’s going to find a job for every American,” says another.
Anyone who thinks that the left in this country is not trying to indoctrinate our children in their liberal philosophies is sadly naïve. It is occurring at an alarming and accelerating pace. Our kids today might not be able to read at their grade level or comprehend basic logic-based skills, but they can properly define racism and can give a lecture on Aids awareness or global warming.
It is occurring at an alarming and accelerating pace. Whether you are a conservative, moderate or blue dog democrat, you have a responsibility as a parent to find out what your child believes is being taught politically and to ensure that they receive a balance of information.
If not, the left will have a future voting block which will keep them in power forever.
