Keith Karnok last week performed magic for a room full of children at the Oconee County Library.

“Mr. Keith” introduced his audience to characters such as Peter the praying mantis, Freddy the flea, Wally the magic wand and Sammy the snake. Mr. Keith also performed ventriloquism with his parrot, Vern. The show, titled “Catch the Reading Bug,” incorporated bugs and books into the fun and wonder of magic tricks. Rather than using the typical magic words, Mr. Keith’s magic phrase was “I love to read.”
