Image The Oconee County Warriors wrestling team fell short of advancing to the State Wrestling Duals Tournament after finishing fourth in the Area VIII AAA Wrestling Duals Tournament, held last Saturday at Oconee County High School.

Eastside and Jackson County advanced to state after finishing first and second, respectively. Morgan County was third.

Oconee County started the eight-team, double elimination bracket with a 50-13 win over Elbert County, but followed with a 48-24 loss to Jackson County. Oconee County then defeated Mountain View and won 56-24, but closed out the day with a 37-33 loss to Morgan County.

Zack Schroer (130 pounds), Cody Knight (140 pounds) and Max Liebl (275 pounds) were each 5-0 on the day.
